Gap overview: My art paper organization and storage

Picture
PROBLEMS AREAS

1. Multiple paper sizes in one box leading to mess

2. Box for each paper-size not very practical

3. Need a mobile solution when wanting to travel

4. Light weight design

5. Need Smart looks against mundane paper boxes

So, how about a fit-all-sizes corner protectors which can be developed to have handles and be modular too?

Picture
The base diagonal (shown in dotted lines) could be firm yet adjustable like a telescopic scale to fit multiple sizes and to provide a stable base

The upper diagonal could be made of some elastic material which could double as handles

Experiments to make corner protectors from milk cans...

This crude model helped understanding the protective corner design concept

The corrugated cardboard model

Picture
The corners are protected with 2"x2x1" Cuboids.

Advantages of this design over box includes easy visibility if paper colors in the stack

The corners are compact and can be stored easily when not in use
Further refinements to be made to the model to make handles and telescopic diagonals

My lounge chair

This lounge chair sketch was a little difficult to sketch because on starting I realized there were no straight lines ;) All curved surfaces!
Had fun sketching it!
Had given myself a 5 minute target and was happy to be on time...

My list of 10 gaps

1. Messed and wrinkled bedcover in bed every morning:
Something that stretches and straightens itself after its user leaves would be so good.

2. My origami paper storage:
I am an origami artist and an ardent paper fan. Wish I could store multiple paper sizes neatly :(
My room is always a mess.  This is a problem I  face everyday. On asking about it to my fellow folders in the local folding club the reaction was a spontaneous "Me too!"
An organizer box is the need of the hour for me!

3. Quick-self-drying wash basin counters:
Hate using wet/used wash basin counters with water splashes everywhere; especially in public toilets

4. Emptying half-filled waste bags from dustbins:
Many a times I have to throw away a hardly-filled waste bag because there is something in it which stinks. Feel so wasteful. Need compartments...

5. Self sharpening knives:
I need very sharp knives and sharpen them almost alternate days. What if the cutting action is such that the knife sharpens itself while chopping?

6. Best-rate comparison software:
A program for comparing all possible online sites AND shop discounts for a product.

7. Transferring photos automatically from camera:
Umpteen occasions when the camera memory card declares itself FULL at a critical moment. Auto transfer to mobile or some handy device needed!

8. Non-creaseable paper:
Hate discarding a wrongly folded origami paper. Wish I could use an iron on it just like clothes and straighten in without destroying paper quality.

9. Healing nail driven wall:
So many heavy artwork/frames cant be displayed using adhesive tape. Nails cant be driven because of rental clauses. Flexible and heavy wall display solutions needed.

10. A combo craft tool
A tool with a combination of cutter, scissors, bone folder, glue and taping solution. Countless times when I keep losing one or the other instrument when I sit to work.

My magic tool: the herb scissors

My Herb Scissor
Being a paper lover, I am almost everyday with scissors. The simple idea of having two blades joined at a point, and using shear force to the advantage is smart; and it cuts almost everything. And THIS HERB SCISSORS especially blows me away.
It has five blade pairs instead of the usual two. And the result is 5 times more efficient. Its a great time saver in the kitchen! Herbs go chopped directly in the pot. The protective case is equally handy in storing it.
Simply love it!
